I went for another run just after 7am...9.07k in 52:55 (5:50 pace)...I wish I had to some scales here to see how much weight loss there is in this humidity!
we did a mountain bike ride in the Ka'a'awa Valley with Bike Hawaii - it's a private ranch (Kualoa Ranch) used for quite a few movies & tv shows (Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Windtalkers, Lost, Godzilla)...it was good fun - it was stinking hot at the start but as we rode deeper into the valley it got cooler as we entered rainforest like terrain...we ate some strawberry guava straight off the tree as well as some mountain apple which was like a cross between an apple & peach in flavour...
Jodie managed an impressive stack after hitting a rock as she was coming to a stop...she flipped over the handlebars but managed to emerge relatively unscathed...the German guys were pretty impressed as was our guide Mattias...would have made some good footage except no-one was filming!
it was about 2hrs from start to finish on the bike (9.91k) - I had the 310 on so I'll be able to have a look at our route once we get back to Canberra (couldn't load the software on my netbook - edit see below!)...water & trail mix was provided for the ride then lunch was provided at the finish...the terrain was tricky in places...one older American had to stop about a third of the way in as he wasn't feeling well - we picked him back up on our return...we had a young guy from San Diego plus three German guys who were all quite cool...
temps have been in the low to mid 30s...
tomorrow we are hiring a car so more shopping and caching are on the cards!
