yesterday's practice match v SA at Bankstown was played in quite warm & humid conditions...
won the toss and batted first (should have bowled first given the dewy conditions, outfield was slow for us but quick for them)...made 5/145 off our 50 overs...we were too slow at the start which prevented us reaching a total closer to 200...
it was resolved we would bowl our 50 overs regardless of their score...they made 260 off their 50 with 4 batters retiring (2 made 60+ and 2 made 40+)...we picked up 3 wickets - 1 (a run out) before the retirements and 2 after (1 run out & 1 bowled)...
definitely a step up in class...will be interesting to see if the players make any adjustments to their own games...
arrived back in Canberra just after 8:30pm...I thnak my luck stars I have skins, feel pretty good today...
aiming to make my 100th Customs run today...then playing 9 holes of golf after work...
