Weekend wrap...

Friday

had a nice dinner at Redsalt for mum's birthday…the staff even surprised us by providing a little mousse cake with a candle in it & singing "Happy Birthday"!

returned home in time to see England upset Australia for the second time in a row…

Saturday

finally managed to break my handicap as I scored 41pts to win the comp (playing 6 shots better than my handicap on the day)…handicap now drops from 16 to 14!...also got Nearest The Pin on the 14th…

Suze & I had to rush from golf to the basketball, meeting Jodie at Radford so we only had to pay for parking for one car…it was a good game of basketball to watch, made even better by a Caps win…they play the Flames in Penrith next Saturday for the title…

next it was over to Canberra Stadium for the first Brumbies home game of the season…it started raining about 90mins before kick-off and didn't really let up at all…with thunder & lightning thrown in as well it was quite a show…unfortunately the Brumbies lost by 2 points when the Blues scored a converted try right on full-time…

Sunday

up early for the regular trip to Sydney, this time at home (Killara) to St George Sutherland…but minutes prior to my arrival at the ground the captain contacted me to say the match was off…I was bit annoyed that no-one had bothered to check the ground earlier, particularly given that we have three players that have quite a ways to travel for matches…

anyway I made the most of my time in Sydney by geocaching!...attempted 7 caches (finding 5) in Sydney plus 1 in Goulburn on the way back…

tried again to find the 2nd waypoint for "ZFX#2 ; Game Ladies" but DNF'd for a 2nd time….found two that I had previously DNF'd – "A Sirius Cache" & "Ku-ring-gai Quarry"…then found three I hadn't tried before – "MS-05: Swayin'", "Off Campus" & "#64 The Bogle-Chandler Mystery Cache"…also tried to find the 1st waypoint for "#7 Isaac's Rest" which is located in Rookwood cemetery without luck…the one in Goulburn ("GWM – 1914-1918") was an easy one to finish on…

home just before 7:30pm…logged my geocaching efforts before watching the remainder of the 2nd ODI final…

hopefully these last three losses will be a kick in the butt for the Aussie boys & will stop them being complacent in their defence of the World Cup…
