Customs Joggers 30th Anniversary...

a huge turnout which was just as well because there was enough food to feed an army post-run!...the run course was decked out in balloons and course markings at turns thanks to FlashDuck...

jodie was pinged 45secs by the handicapper after her big PB last week but started 2 minutes early as she wasn't feeling 100%...she managed 30:17 and this week was wearing her new pair of "mi adidas" which are custom fit and you get to pick your own colour, trim and personal message - Jodie's message is "run2eat" ...i'll see if i can get a picture of them as they look really cool...

speedygeoff decided not to race this one and elected to run with me...he even let me finish in front of him, such a gentleman, as i managed my 4th sub 22:00 time (just) with 21:58...

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 8.7/58%
start time: 12:28pm
total distance: 5.05k
total time: 21:58
avg pace: 4:21
total calories: 377
avg HR: 173
finish temp/humidity: 9.3/59%

wasn't sure how i'd go today so very pleased with the result even though i went back to my usual fast first k!...1k splits: 4:06, 4:20, 4:26, 4:27, 4:26...

the result of the point-score (Jan-Jun but not including today) was:

1st 730pts Paul B (from 21 runs)
2nd 718pts me (21) second consecutive time i have finished second
3rd 707pts Jodie (19)

on gross score i actually pipped Paul by 2pts but the four lowest scores are deducted and i lost 139 to Paul's 125...still i was pretty happy with how consistent i was over the series (highest position/points earned [4th/47] - lowest position/points earned [19th/32], )...my fastest run was 21:35, my slowest 24:08 and my average 22:30...i managed to break 22:00 for the first time...

Paul let me pick from the prizes first (another gentleman) & i chose the Guylian chocolates (which Jodie & Suze will get to share)...he then got the Tawny Port and Jodie got a bottle of wine which she promptly gave to FD for all her work (she won't drink it so looks like FlashDrake will be lucky)...btw, FD's latest creation was 5 cork boards joined with hinges to hold the handicap/results sheets...the hinges of course make it easier to carry on her bike!

Nice going AR!
VVery consistant.
I reckon you ought to use garmins Virtual partner to help you run even 4:20s and you should be able to get a new Pb in no time.

Nice of Speedy Geoff to let you through first also!
