watched a fair bit of cricket and mucked about in the pool with five kids (great fun) then had a delicious BBQ lunch before the day ended with the Australia Day Yahtzee championships - thankfully I didn't finish last!
Friday
it was raining again so we didn't get up to much although we did find one more cache and played one more round of Yahtzee before heading to the airport....
the flight was delayed by 40mins so we didn't land until just after 10:30pm...
today
last time I did a half marathon in the lead up to a marathon, I performed that poorly that I chucked that marathon attempt in...I am pleased to report that that hasn't happened on this occasion!

not a big field, probably about 30 (the Mizuno guy had been told there would be 400, wonder if he'll sponsor the event next year?!)...
conditions were good at the start with the cloud cover keeping it realtively cool but the sun made it's full appearance with about 6k to go and it got decidedly warmer!
Kelley had a good run as did Jeff G....my footy teammates both completed their first HMs although one did suffer from cramping...
I think this is my fastest HM since the
Wow great run Bron. You are going to run an amazing Marathon!
ReplyDeletethanks Ruth, I'll be happy with a good marathon!
ReplyDeleteGood time Bron in the middle of marathon training. If you ask me it was much too warm for fast ties. GC would have been way cooler than that. Maybe that's another reason (besides no publicity) that they only had 30 runners - should have started at 7 am.
ReplyDeleteI agree Ewen...I'm sure they had closer to 100 last year...
